I am obsessed with all things hair! You guys have probably heard me talk about my hair before and the different products I like to use! On my most recent trip to Utah, I got my 3rd Brazilian Blowout and I am obsessed! So for today’s post I wanted to talk about a few things: Brazilian Blowouts, Clip in Extensions, and my current hair must-have products.
My natural hair is pretty thin and fine. It also has a lot of curl! Personally I am not a fan of my “natural” curl because first of all, I have one side that is curlier than the other, and secondly it’s more of a puffy frizz than curl anyway!
My curl definitely comes in handy when I want to curl my hair with a curling iron because it holds the curl so well, but if I decide to shower at night and not blow dry it straight…oh my gosh guys! Picture Mufasa, Chewbacca…I am dead serious! With that being said, THANK GOODNESS my sister in law Jill is a hairstylist! She introduced me to Brazilian blowouts about a year ago and the second I got one I knew it would be something I got for my hair frequently! They are amazing to say the least!
What is a Brazilian Blowout? It’s a professional hair smoothing treatment that helps make your hair healthy and frizz-free, with the perfect amount of shine! It makes it so you don’t really have to spend a lot of time styling your hair, blow drying, straightening, ect.. obviously doing those things frequently can damage your hair. I can not even explain to you how nice it is to get out of the shower and let my hair air dry and not worry about looking in the mirror and seeing this uncontrollably frizz puffing out the sides of my head!
So a blowout typically lasts 3-4 months and then you will want to go in and get another treatment. However, the more regular you are about getting them the less frequently you will have to get them. This treatment literally changes the texture of your hair! In the best way possible! I really can not say enough good things about them! So they are on the pricey side, but honestly in my opinion they are worth every penny! If you are local to Utah, you are freaking lucky because Jill actually does them at her salon as well as any other hair things you might need done. I promise you she is the best ever! So be sure to check out her Instagram HERE. And if you have any questions or want to know if this treatment would be beneficial to your hair type before actually trying it send her a message and she will help you out!
All I can say is that Brazilian blowouts are literally gold to me. I am not even kidding!
Clip-in Hair Extensions
So obviously I have naturally thin hair. However, having kids has completely ruined it. It is the saddest thing! My hair is so different and just extremely thin and stringy. I feel like I am always pulling out wads of it in the shower and I literally cry every time I blow dry my hair because so much comes out. Brazilian Blowouts have helped SO much with my texture and overall health, however my hair is still thinner that I would like it to be. I have taken many different vitamins before that have actually helped a lot, so I probably should start them again! Ah there is always so much! However, having extensions is a must for me. They are so easy to clip in yourself and so fun to have when you get all done up and just want that extra volume! I love them for braids because with out them my braids would be the same thickness as a string cheese. It’s so sad!
I totally splurged a couple months ago and bought Amber Fillerup’s Barefoot Blond Hair and I am obsessed! They come in the cutest box and are amazing quality! I don’t color my hair, so my current color of hair is my natural color! It’s funny because her “Sweet Cola” color literally matches it perfectly! They are so comfortable, I can hardly tell I have them in! Someday I would love to be able to get the “tape in” ones so I don’t have to worry about putting them in and taking them out every day, however tape-ins are a little more expensive because you have to go in and get them adjusted every couple months so for now my clip-ins are perfect!
Below I will share my current favorite hair products/items! All of these are items that I use regularly and truly love. It is super important to use sulfate-free shampoo so if you don’t want to spend the money on Pureology (even though it is the best) no worries, just make sure the shampoo you are using is sulfate-free!
I hope this post was helpful! I absolutely love trying out new hair products and overall just making sure that I am taking care of my hair in the best ways possible! If you guys have any favorite products/treatments for your hair please share!
We hope you all have a happy weekend!
