We made it to 14 weeks! And our baby is the size of a lemon! Yay!
Here are a few things I want to remember about the first trimester!
I thought I remembered how awful it was being pregnant since with Clara I was literally sick the entire 9 months. But, I definitely did not remember to the full extent. It has been a rough 1st trimester with me starting the all day nausea/vomiting at 6 weeks. It’s hard to believe I have been feeling this way for 8 weeks. The best way to explain it is that it’s a mix between sea sickness and the stomach flu. When it first started it didn’t seem as bad, but progressively got worse as time went on. I think tha it is mostly because it just started to wear on me and the day after day with no relief was starting to get hard.
I honestly don’t know how I would survive without Michael. He has helped so much and has been so understanding and sweet. The second he gets home from works he takes over. I literally have cleaned the kitchen 2-3 times since finding out I was pregnant. He takes the girls out to do fun things, feeds them, bathes them, you name and he is there. Plus he as been so sweet to make me food because the food aversions have been so awful. I don’t remember having them this bad with my other two pregnancies. He has been to the store and then gone back literally 10 minutes later because I decided I wanted something else. So I had been craving shrimp and he forgot to get it, so when he got home and I asked for it, he volunteered to go back to grab it. When he got home I started wondering whether or not I could even eat it so he called the store and talked to the poultry guy! Thankfully it was safe. Then I sat down, took one bite of the shrimp and literally was disgusted. So we had to throw it away because I couldn’t even deal with the smell. I feel so bad writing this, but I literally can’t control myself! Thankfully I have been so sick that I haven’t had too many cravings especially the second part of the first trimester when I got sicker. The only things I have really craved on a frequent basis have been steak, banana cream pie, ginger ale (I hate it now), and peppermint ice cream! But honestly I hate eating. Everything just grosses me out!
I am not usually a super emotional person, however, the vomiting and severe dry heaving have brought me to tears multiple times. I have a barf bag in my car and in my diaper bag. Every morning I take Oivia to school at 8:50 am and everyday I wonder how I got her there! I can’t even count how many times I have had to use my car barf bag! I just have to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it come June!
I also just started taking zophran which seems to take the edge off. So I am grateful for that!
Let’s pray that now that I am in my second trimester some relief comes!
Obviously I have myself a little belly. I didn’t get a belly this early with my girls so it’s fun! I have not gained any weight yet, but I am sure that’s to come!
Everyone knows that you have to pee a lot when you are pregnant! Well since this is my third and my “peeing” has been an issue since Clara, I knew this pregnancy was going to be funny. I have already peed my pants several times, a few of them while throwing up. TMI? It’s true! There have been times that I have literally been running up the stairs to the bathroom pushing Olivia out of the way so that I could go before her! I know, I am definitely the bigger person! Good thing she is such a good sport. But seriously, I plan on peeing my pants endless times this pregnancy!
I know it is still a little early, but since this is my third pregnancy I am not surprised. I have definitely felt some flutters! I know the difference between gas and baby movements so I was so excited to feel our little one flopping around in there! I can’t wait for the girls to be able to feel, because they are going to love it!
We don’t know the gender yet, but we are finding out this week! We are going to do an early scan so the girls can be there to see the baby! We can hardly wait.
I have no clue what it is, however Olivia is certain it is a baby boy. She says she would be excited if it was a girl but that it won’t be a girl! Clara thinks it is a boy too so I guess we will see if the siblings have some sort of special bond!
I will be thrilled with either gender! Of course a boy would be fun since we don’t have one yet, but three girls would be an absolute blast too! I literally am so excited to find out I can’t wait!
Michael and I are such planners so we already have a list of names for each gender, including the middle name!
Girl: Adeline, Emmaline, and Charlotte are our top 3! We almost named Clara Charlotte so it will definitely be in the running if we have a girl! As far as middle names go, Clara is named after my sister Sophia so I would love to name our other girl after another one of my sisters. So if we do Adeline it will be Adeline Elizabeth, Emmaline Rose, (since Emmaline is one of my sisters names), and then Charlotte Elizabeth or Charlotte Emmaline!
Boy: Boy names are tricker because Michael and I don’t agree as much on these. I would do Henry, Jonah, or Nicholas. But the name that Michael and I both agree on is Benjamin. So, if it’s a boy his name will most likely be Benjamin Michael!
Well I feel like I have pretty much covered everything about the first trimester! To sum it up in two words I would say deathly ill. But we are surviving!
It has been so fun thinking about having another little baby, we literally can’t wait to meet him/her!
